What is Bright Friday?
Over the Black Friday weekend we want to spread positivity and encourage women to get outdoors turning Black Friday, BRIGHT!
We’ve partnered for the second year with Women in Sport, who share in our vision of putting women first and also encourage us to spend time outdoors to boost our confidence, mental health and physical well-being. Over the Bright Friday weekend, we’ll be donating 10% of all sales from Friday 26th - Monday 29th November to Women in Sport, to help nurture the next generation of adventurers.
To participate in Bright Friday and help flood social media with positivity and colour, simply pull on your ACAIs and brightest piece of clothing, get outdoors and share a snap on social media with the hashtag #ACAIBrightFriday.
WOMEN IN SPORT
Women in Sport was founded in 1984 and have a deep understanding of the needs of girls and women and work to breakdown stubborn gender inequalities within the sport sector and beyond.
Each year, they work with approximately 12,000 women and girls and 600 organisations in their mission to ensure every woman and girl in the UK can experience the joy, health benefits and community that sport and exercise provides. Their pioneering research and insight is disseminated to over 30,000 people each year, and wider campaigning reaches over 100 million people annually.
Your support will continue to help them ensure they can give every woman and girl the opportunity to take part in sport and inspire her to do so by sharing their research, campaigning for change and by finding new ways to be active.
As part of our partnership with Women in Sport, Kasia Bromley, co-founder of ACAI Outdoorwear, spoke to Olympian Rebecca Adlington, Chief Executive of Women in Sport, Stephanie Hilborne, and Community Co-Lead at Adventure Queens Nadia Weigh on the latest episode of the Women in Sport podcast.
The podcast focuses on the physical, mental and social benefits of being active and the great outdoors whilst exploring the barriers that prevent women and girls from participating in these activities.
The podcast will be available from Wednesday 24th November on all major podcast platforms.
OUR PLEDGE TO WOMEN.
Women in Sport’s Lockdown Research found that during the first period of lockdown strong links were forged by women with exercise and the outdoors, freedom, wellbeing and mental health. This is something we would like to actively encourage women to maintain as we transition back to normality.
During the last 18 months, new habits have been established and Women in Sport heard from many women that a walk had become a regular part of the structure of their day.
Through setting time aside every day to go outdoors, enjoy fresh air and have time away from others, women are taking care of their mental and physical health through being active and connecting to nature.
Women in Sport believe in the transformative power that sport and exercise has transforms lives and have a vision that no-one is excluded from the joy, fulfilment and lifelong benefits of sport and exercise.
We not only want to encourage women but also enlighten girls and teens to reap the benefits of the great outdoors, nurturing the next generation of adventurers, explorers and outdoor enthusiasts.
