Behind the Design: Meet ACAI’s Product Design Manager

I’ve been with ACAI for almost 6 years now (I started when there was a grand total of 5 people) and I work as the Design Manager (and multi-tasker, like a lot of us here!)
What does an average work day look like?
Every day is different! Generally, always product focused; one minute I can be working on new colours & fabrics for future seasons or designing new products the next I could be helping with approvals for current production, trying on fit samples and checking inbound stock. It’s always varied, hands on and involves A LOT of tea!!
What excites you about the ACAI brand?
Everything!! The team- (incredible) and what we’re creating, but also the community of adventure loving women- we’re building. I want all women to feel empowered and seen/ well catered for in the outdoor industry and I hope with the long-lasting product we’re making,we’re doing our small part to help achieve this.
How do you incorporate the outdoors into your life?
In any way I possibly can!! I’m a ‘throw yourself into everything’ kind of gal and love to try new things and get outside whenever I can, mostly long distance running but I also love daily dog walks with my family and all the outdoor swimming I can cram in (whatever the weather) I’m a big fan of swim/run events (or extreme sightseeing as I like to call it) as this combines my two favourite outdoor pastimes.
What is your favorite product from the collection and why?
It’s tough to pick just one…… but for versatility alone, the Softshell leggings! They’ve seen me through countless downpours, post hike pub visits and been dragged through numerous muddy fields on runs and still look just as good as they did when I first got them! (Almost 4+ years ago now) Close second would be The Glacier jacket: Winter Essential for colour lovers like me!
