ACAI’s Adventure Bucket List 2025

Dec 17, 2024

Tourism businesses around the world are all predicting a hot new travel trend for 2025... “f**k it lists”!

A new take on the traditional bucket list, these are trips that are truly out of this world; the kind you chuck everything at and just say “I’m making this happen”.

At ACAI we love this idea of living in the moment. Our women’s clothing brand was created for hiking, and made for adventure. So for us, those once in a lifetime travel experiences must have one thing in common... they have to be in the outdoors.

In that spirit, we thought we’d offer our top 10 bucket list (or f**k it list!) adventures for 2025. With their epic views, stunning trails and breathtaking scenery, we hope they inspire your travel wish list for this year and beyond:

1. Quebec in Fall, Canada

Quebec in Canada is one of those places which enjoys real seasons; blooming flowers in spring, balmy sun-filled days in summer, snowy white landscapes in winter, and
stunning, colourful scenery in autumn.

It’s this latter season which we’re putting on our 2025 adventure list, our interest
piqued by Jenna Marie’s blog.

“Grands-Jardins National Park is one of my absolute favourite hiking spots in Quebec,” says Jenna Marie. “The vibrant colours that take over the valley are nothing short of
magical, turning the landscape into a patchwork of warm oranges, reds and
yellows.”

2. Visit Mostnica Gorge, Slovenia

In 2024 Slovenia accrued some impressive PR following a new campaign from its tourism board. The visitors it aimed to attract were those who loved “thrilling outdoor adventures”, “sounds of nature” and “health and wellbeing”. Sign us up!

Following our research, we thought we’d add a hike through the Mostnica Gorge in the Triglav National Park to our travel wish list for 2025. With its wooded valley, emerald green pools, cascading waterfalls, limestone rock formations, rushing rivers and lush meadows, it sounds dreamy to us.

3. Hike to Reinebringen, Norway

When we asked those-in-the-know for their favourite Nordic hike, Reinebringen in Norway was named time and again.

And it’s for good reason this is one of Norway’s most popular hiking trails. Best experienced in the summer months, it is challenging in parts, but worth the climb up the Sherpa steps for the incredible mountain and fjord views from the summit.

4. Caldeirão Trail, Azores

The Azores archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean has been on our travel bucket list for a while, and hearing about this trail has made us want to visit even more.

Situated on Corvo, the smallest and northernmost of the islands, this trail snakes its way around the collapsed crater of Caldeirão (Spanish for “cauldron”). The landscape is truly other-worldly and given the remoteness of this island (which has a mere 400 residents in one town) you’ll feel totally off-grid. Plus, it’s a relatively easy walk, but one well worth it for the unique views.

5. Row Across Pragser Wildsee, Italy

The Grande Dame of European hikes, if you’re yet to discover this area in the Dolomites, then make 2025 the year you remedy that.

Also known as Lake Prags or Lake Braies, if you haven’t heard of the South Tyrol destination, chances are you’ll have seen a photo of it. Renowned as one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy (which is no small feat for a country famed for its stunning lakes!), it’s home to one of the most Instagrammable Alpine views.

For a unique vantage point, we suggest hiring a boat and rowing across the pristine mountain waters of the lake.

6. Visit Emerald Bay, USA

Looking for a family-friendly 2025 adventure? Then how about Emerald Bay on Lake Tahoe? The lake itself is widely thought to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet, with this bay on the south-west corner being the perfect destination for outdoor adventures with kids.

Activities include kayaking and SUP in summer, skiing and snowboarding in winter, and numerous kid-friendly attractions around and on the lake, like the paddlewheel boat cruise, the Vikingsholm castle and the Emerald Bay Beach.

7. The Walkers’ Haute Route, France-Switzerland

For more experienced hikers, how about putting this world-renowned journey from Chamonix to Zermatt on your 2025 bucket list?

You’ll head through the Alpine trails over 11 mountain passes, with the changes in elevation offering spectacular views along the way.

The route will take you about two weeks to complete; bookended with a stay in the beautiful villages and notorious outdoor playgrounds of Zermatt in Switzerland and Chamonix in France.

8. Discover Vancouver’s Lakes, Canada

It’s little wonder Vancouver is regarded as one of the world’s best cities for visitors, thanks to its mild climate, iconic attractions and incredible scenery.

We asked @wandering_withdirtyfeet for her recommendations of the best places in Vancouver to visit, and she suggested the Joffre and Watersprite Lakes.

The former is a sacred trio of turquoise lakes set against the epic Matier Glacier, while the latter is a “Vancouver hidden gem”; a backcountry hike with amazing views of Castle Towers Mountain.

9. Walk The King’s Trail, Sweden

Head north to this famous 273-mile trekking route and you won’t be disappointed. The Kungsleden (King’s Trail), ventures into the wilds of the Arctic Circle, with the opportunity to wild camp or stay in remote huts and cabins along the way.

The trail winds its way through Laponia’s four World Heritage Site National Parks with views of Sweden’s highest mountains. And the route has plenty of exit and entry points, meaning it can be tailored to your time and itinerary.

10. Bryce Canyon National Park, USA

In Utah, this smallest of the state’s National Parks is an adventure location not to be missed. Take the easy Queen’s Garden Trail for views of the Queen Victoria hoodoo. Start and end your journey at the Sunrise and Sunset Points. Wander through the giant rock formations, pausing to photograph the world-famous Natural Bridge. Saddle up for a horse ride through the Peekaboo Loop. And be sure to set your alarm for some midnight stargazing, where visibility is out-of-this-world.

Hiking is in our DNA at ACAI. We were founded on a vision to create an adventure wardrobe for women that supports their experience in the outdoors.

We hope our 10 best bucket list adventures for 2025 inspire your travels next year. Please do tag us in your photos – we love to see where our ACAI community is adventuring to.
