From Concept to Creation: Inside ACAI’s Product Development

I’ve been working for ACAI for 3 years in April! I actually started on my birthday so I always remember my work anniversary! I’m the product developer on our small product team which I love cause we all work really closely on the products from design to launch!
What does an average work day look like?
My day varies a lot depending on the time of year but usually it’s answering and sending lots of emails to our suppliers first thing, then I’ll start my ever evolving to do list. This year has been really busy but interesting as we’ve been working on lots of new product areas (Eyeball emoji) Then when the post arrives we dive into opening samples and I usually get completely distracted with all the exciting new styles! We also have regular fit sessions and meetings around range planning.
What excites you about the ACAI brand?
It feels like we’re creating clothing for a currently uncatered for customer and doing something a little different than what is already out there by designing for truly what women want and need from their clothing. I love seeing ACAI out in the wild and hearing the feedback! It makes me really proud to be involved in the process.
How do you incorporate the outdoors into your life?
I live in rural North Wales with a small collection of animals so everyday involves being outdoors, walking dogs, feeding them and checking the goats haven’t escaped! I get nominated to wear test a lot of our products to make sure they are animal proof! Outside of home, I like to go for walks with family and friends, I have a bit of a reputation for falling over so have recently learnt to always pack a spare pair of trousers!
What is your favorite product from the collection and why?
Thermal Trousers for winter are an essential for anyone that spends a lot of time outdoors. The On the Go Fleece and Glacier jacket have also been my go to uniform from first wear test samples!
